How to maintain control on the firm snow of March?
Montgenèvre shows insolent health in the middle of this month with 240 cm at the bottom of the resort and 260 cm at the summits. Skiing is guaranteed until mid-April (all practical info is on the Montgenèvre site). At this time, the snowpack densifies due to freeze cycles. To carve clean curves without skidding, the quality of your edges becomes the key factor for your comfort. The ABBA SPORTS workshop takes care of it.
Thirty-five years of experience
Our technicians prepare your skis in the heart of the ABBA SPORTS workshop using a proven hybrid method. We use machine technology to grind the base structure, then finish the work manually to achieve the desired precision on the finishing touches. We have chosen Holmenkol for base treatment, a global technical reference.

Precision
Regular sharpening offers a predictable grip on hard snow patches. This allows you to focus on your line rather than your balance. In addition, appropriate waxing eliminates friction zones for a smooth glide.
With us, rental fleet maintenance is included and frequent. The figures speak for themselves: 98.6% of our customers are satisfied with the quality of their ski preparation. This is a standard we set for ourselves every morning.
Bring us your own skis
If you own your own equipment, the workshop is open to you. Drop off your skis in the evening before closing and pick them up as soon as we open the next morning, ready for the first lift.
Prices are clear: a simple wax costs €12, while the combined sharpening and waxing package is €25. If your bases have met some rocks, a full service (filling, sharpening, waxing) varies between €38 and €45 depending on the work required. For skiers looking for a specific feel, we offer a "competition" hand sharpening with a custom angle (from 87 to 90 degrees) for €30.
A simple safety adjustment? It's €5. Binding mounting is €40. We also stock many spare parts for snowboards, such as screws or replacement straps. Note, however, that we do not work on delaminated structures or ripped-out edges.
Logistics
Located at 291 Route d’Italie (Le Soen building), ABBA SPORTS has a car park right in front of the entrance. This is convenient for unloading personal ski bags. Once equipped, you are 40 metres from the slopes and 30 metres from the ski lifts. It's hard to get more direct.
You can even pick up your rental skis from 5:00 PM the night before to avoid the morning rush. To optimize your organization, check our advice on access to the slopes or our ski storage service available outside school holidays. We welcome you from 08:30 AM to 07:00 PM, closing at 06:30 PM from Sunday to Thursday.
